Do colleges even look at your 1st semester senior grades when they evaluate your application? I'm not sure if I should take AP English and get a C or Regular English and get an A. Does it matter which English class you take if your SAT Verbal and Writing skills are around the 600 range?

I'm already taking 3 other APs including AP Chem, AP Statistics, and AP Government.

Yes they do and often check again in the second semester even after sending an acceptance offer. I have heard of an offer being recinded when a student had a case of "senioritis" and sort of "blew off" the spring semester of sr. year. The college did not like that at all and took back the acceptance.

Well, what I really mean is if colleges consider senior 1st sem grades during your application evaluation. I know that you can have your admission revoked due to poor grades.

they do not. however, correct me if i'm wrong, if you are wait listed or flat out rejected and you send them an appeal with a higher gpa than your previous years they should reconsider
