Ok so pretty much I’m a junior now wanting to get into virginia tech or vcu, possibly even george mason university, in the engineering program. My freshman and sophomore year of high school I really screwed up. I got a 3.3 and 3.2 for the first two years. Now as a junior I’ve been able to keep straight A’s In some more rigorous courses. I’ve only taken the sat once and I got a 1710(I plan on taking it again). For extra curricular, I’ve run indoor track for all 3 years, outdoor for all 3, cross country for 2, officer for technology student association (national technology program) and I compete for 3d cad engineering for tsa, I was the coleader of our guitar club and I’m am active member in our orchestra and I did a youth symphony throughout middle school(not sure if this counts) do you guys think my improvement this year will help me get in?
All replies are appreciated.
Yes, they like upward trends in GPA.
They like consistently good grades the best but they prefer an upward trend to a downward trend, especially if you have an explanation (death of a close family member, serious illness/injury, divorce, etc) that explains why your grades were poor one year.
