Do colleges look at weighted or unweighted gpa?

My weighted gpa is 2.95 which sucks. All my grades except for one class (H.Pre Calc, 79) Were above and 80 so my unweighted gpa is probably much higher. Do they take that into consideration? Also do they see first marking period of senior year because my weighted Gpa was 3.46. Thanks :) I know it varies, but in general what would you say

As you said, it varies - but in general, I believe they look at both…here, check this site out…they do a much better job of summarizing what I wanted to say haha

For schools that don’t have very strong definitive standards – basically are you a living/breathing person, they may only look at your cursory UW GPA. For schools that are more discriminating, they’ll invest the time to dig deeper into your transcript and your weighted GPA. That’s what it depends upon. Good luck

They look at both. Colleges want to see if you challenged yourself. They will look at the gpa, strength of schedule (compared to what is offered), class rank (if available), and a lot of other things. Best of luck to you.

The way I would say it is schools look at the UW GPA and the strength of schedule.

thank you very much!
