I am considering taking an online AP class next semester because I feel that I slacked off too much this year by taking regular US history instead of APUSH. But is it true that colleges don't value online classes as much as conventional classes? The class would show up on my transcript as an online class if I were to take it.

If the on-line AP course has been approved by your high school and will appear on your transcript as a AP course, then it will not matter.
