if i'm applying early to a school, was i supposed to already have sent in my transcript and other info? or do they just need me to have pressed submit by the deadline day?

Generally, you are required to have postmarked by Nov 1 everything required except usually test scores for which you are fine as long as you order them sent by Nov 1. You best see if you can get that transcript sent tomorrow although many will “forgive” a day or two – your problem is that high schools can be notoriously slow in getting something like that sent.

Transcript, scores, recommendations, and application must be sent in (or postmarked if snail mailed) before November 1st.

dang knew i shouldn’t have left this all to the last minute…

^hahaha Im in your boat. Chillax…we’ll be fine…

No…send in the common app and essay by end of the day on November 1. You will be notified mid-November (for Nov1 deadline schools) if you have items missing. Dartmouth’s site even says that you can use Nov. 6 test scores (and they have Nov. 1 ED deadline). Another school also told us not to worry about this and they don’t start to read until the third or fourth week of November).

If the deadline is Nov 1, does this mean I have to send everything in by today or by the end of the day on Nov 1? :)

Bump for the question above me. I need to know!

By 11:59 Nov. 1. This means you have the entire Monday to submit the app.

From what I’ve been told, they should be sent or postmarked by Nov1, but they are fairly lenient with that stuff since it is out of your control.

See my post…per son’s guidance counselor at a top prep that has lots of experience with this. Get your stuff in (app, supp, essay).
