In my school I have seen multiple cases of people exaggerating and lying on their apps especially about social work. Do colleges check their involvement by calling up orgs or just let it go?

i’ve heard of some cases where colleges would pick random applications and investigate thoroughly… so better not ‘exaggerate’ or ‘lie’ at all…

anyone know this for sure?

No. Schools cant go through 20 000 applications and verify every single EC. But heck, if they ever find out by any way that you lied on your app, thats grounds for rejection, dismissal if you are attending the school while they find out, or the annulation of your degree if they find out when u already graduated.

But i have never heard of what DareDream said. Even though now that I think about it they probably do it.

UC schools randomly make applicants to vefify
