Do colleges still send acceptance letters?

All of my applications will notify me of acceptance online. Do they still send you physical letters?

My college list:

I don’t know about those specifically, but yes, in general I think that most do. You might be notified of your acceptance online, but the “large envelope” often with a brochure or course catalog and an congrats letter and a sticker are also usually mailed. Often there is financial award letter in here as well.

I have two kids that recently went through the process. Between the two kids there was only one school that didn’t send a physical letter (UMass Amherst). Usually there was an online notification first.

As for the course catalog in the mail - I have not seen an actual physical course catalog since I was in college. I didn’t know they even existed anymore. Everything is online for my kids.

My D went through the application process two cycles ago. 2-3 weeks after the online acceptances, she received some kind of packet in the mail with a congrats letter, a poster, a sticker, or something like that. No course catalogue - all online ; )

For my two kids, all colleges they were accepted to sent mailings. Colleges that denied them mostly didn’t send mailings.

So far I have only got one acceptance (GMU) and one rejection (CMU) and it actually ended up being CMU that sent me a physical rejection letter while GMU gave me an online acceptance.
