Do colleges/universities grant AP credit AFTER admission?

So, I know they grant credit for doing AP's in grade 12, but what if I do them during my first year to satisfy electives? So like taking AP Psych exam instead of taking Psych at uni/college.

They may, but you have to check with the specific school.

lol, i don't think so man...what's the point of taking an AP class if you're IN a college anyway...many colleges will want you to take the COLLEGE'S class, not the collegeboard tests :)

But...maybe, if you go to some less competitive, small school....maybe!

Good Luck!!

I'm a yale undergrad and i took AP bio this year to place out of the department's intro sequence. Just check with the appropriate administrators at your school.

Sometimes it doesn't make sense to take a course in college because you've already learned the material, but for some reason you don't have an AP score (eg, if your school doesn't offer AP classes, or you've done significant independent study in a field). That was my situation with bio, so taking the exam in college made more sense than wasting a few credits on something that wouldn't be very informative.

Can't you just take the CLEP instead? It doesn't have free response. :)
