Just out of curiosity.

I honestly don’t think so. Their purpose is that you can get them out of the way for college. It’s almost as if in high school, you actually took that college class. It would be nice though if we could.

If you’re in an early college program, like finishing high school at college, then yes.

Yes you can.

There is also the CLEP exams which may be taken.

You can take them, but I don’t think colleges will give you credit for passing them when you are freshman in college.

Yes they do.

CLEP exam credit varies form college to college. Recently, I looked something up about CLEP and at DD’s university, no CLEP credit is awarded after a student has 30 credits. I do not know the specifics for AP.

The issue is not whether you can take AP tests after you are in college (College Board will always take your money and let you take one), but whether a college will give you credit for it. Thus, you have to check particular college. Many colleges have their own proficiency exams for passing out of and getting credit for courses and do not accept AP’s as an alternative to that system.
