<p>polsci, to answer your question, Columbia probably won’t do a background check on any of the trivial ECs you list. The truth is, the fakeable ECs probably won’t be significant enough anyways to matter to the adcoms (stuff like FIRST Robotics, USAMO, Science Competitions - those are all very easy to verify). However, as I’ve posted on the Transfer threads, the more ECs you list, the more your application loses focus, and the more likely you are to receive a rejection - so having a bunch of activities listed is not always all roses.</p>
