Do EA decisions come out in December, or is it basically like rolling?

particularly for private schools.

For private schools, expect decisions to be released simultaneously on the announced date for that college. Also note that many colleges have “mid-December” as a placeholder; they will announce the exact date closer to the actual release.

However, different colleges may have different promised dates for EA (or ED) notification.

The few D20 considered had EA notification dates in January. Makes sense, since anyone with an ED1 acceptance would have to withdraw by then and then they aren’t offering spots to students who can’t attend.

It varies widely.

D22 already heard from Penn State. MIT is “mid-December”. Purdue is January 15. UIUC is “mid-February”.

UT Austin is Feb 1 but they are talking about rolling decisions, Yes caltech is Dec 12, at 12.12 PM. Even UM (Twin cities) is rolling (some have received decisions already), though they claim it to be by Jan 31st.

Haven’t really seen rolling for elite private school in the past years.
