Do FSU classrooms have wifi?

hello,

i will be attending FSU in the fall this year and i am currently in the market to buy an IPAD 2 with wifi or with wifi and 3G. I was wondering if most FSU classrooms contain wifi so i would not need the 3g or should i spend the extra bit of cash to purchase the 3G so im able to connect to the internet for reference during class?

Thanks

Yes and no. There’s not quite campus-wide WiFi yet, although it’s certainly much better coverage-wise than it was when I started. However, it’s not the most reliable internet in the world (in some classrooms, I’ve been able to pick up the WiFi, but not actually be able to use it…)

Also keep in mind too that 3G coverage can vary widely across campus. T-Mobile and Sprint have decent coverage, but lack compared to AT&T or Verizon… and those two can still have some dead zones on campus. If you’re looking at getting an iPad with 3G, I’d probably look at getting it on Verizon if you can, with AT&T a second option, and then if you aren’t currently a subscriber to either company’s services, just go WiFi only.

What is your intended major? That would shed some light on where your classes might be located, so I could help you a bit better :)
