<p>I'm a highschool senior, and am considering rejecting all the schools i get accepted to and taking a gap year to japan. I would learn the language and hopefully do some community service. What I'm wandering is, would doing so look good on my college applications when i would reapply next year?</p>
<p>Rather than taking a gap year by rejecting all of your schools, why don't you just defer for a year? That way you have a school to go to when you get back and you won't have to reapply anywhere.</p>
<p>i could, but one of the many reasons i may do this is because i got rejected from my first choice, and i don't know how attached i am to the other schools I am applying to.</p>
<p>I agree. You should just defer so that they will hold your place. That's better than reapplying again and wasting all that time and effort.</p>
