All other things aside, do SAT scores like a 2210 make up for a gpa of 3.35 out of 4.3?

Ultimately, it really depends. Some schools will regard you as an underachiever that never really bothered and due to this stigma they probably will deny you. However, other schools would love to have you because of your SAT's. It really depends were you apply. It's too bad to because those scores will often qualify you for scholarships, but because of your low GPA you may not be acceptable. I'm in the same dilemma (though my SAT is 1350/1600 and my GPA is a 3.6). How does your school weight classes:4.33?

from what ive heard. a good GPA makes up for a bad SAT score. a good SAT score will not make up a lot.

It really depends on the school although I'd tend to agree with saket here. I would reason that its easier for a school to overlook a bad score from a 4 hour test than a bad GPA that encompasses 4 years of study.

In making assessments I firmly believe the GPA is not reliable at all. What is much more important is your strength of schedule and your class rank. If your 3.35 GPA is top 10-15% and you took a good amount of honors and AP classes, I wouldn't worry about it. The problem with GPA is that it is not consistent. Schools do GPA different ways: they weight AP courses and honors courses differently and use different scales. I believe most schools recalculate your GPA anyway. Good luck.
