<p>I am a geeky guy, and I certainly am attracted to intelligent girls. There are several really good-looking nerdy girls in my grade, namely in my AP classes. They have awesome personalities, but I think I'd be too boring for them :(. I'm holding out for college to change things around though :).</p>

<p>I love intelligent girls, but what's worse than someone with below average intelligence is someone who is smart, but acts like a ditz. That's so stupid to say they make you feel intimidated, they are being themselves.</p>
<p>(i'm a girl). most guys that I know that are of above average intelligence but not genuises like girls who are smart, clever, etc. but not overly so. and of course they have to be good looking.</p>
<p>the extremely smart guys I know either a.) get easily fed up with not so smart girls so they do like very smart girls who can converse with them at their level and might not be that great looking or b.) are more laid back and don't really care if the girl is very smart or of just average intelligence (not a bimbo, though), but the girl has to be pretty</p>

<p>Boys don't like to be challenged. Intelligence challenges them. Smart girls really do get the short end of things when it comes to dating. Sure, if you're gorgeous also you're good to go, but if you're just of average looks, you're probably better off being less intelligent. If you're smart but act dumb that seems to go over well also. As a geeky girl myself, I can only hope boys grow out of this interest in dumb girls. It's a very annoying trait, IMO.</p>

<p>vegangirl it depends... smart girls that have "average" looks will get noticed from the right guys. I think the problem is many smart girls are not interested in an average guy and always think they can do better. If your standards are high its always going to be hard to compete with the gorgeous girl. However there are plenty of guys in the same boat as the smart girl that cant find a date.</p>
<p>From what I can see in my school, guys like girls who will sit there and look pretty while laughing at their jokes. They also find it entertaining when a girl asks stupid questions/says things that are so dimwitted it's embarassing to watch (probably because it makes the guys feel smarter?) That's actually so annoying to watch- I just want to go up to the girls sometimes and say, "Even an idiot like you knows the answer to that." But, whatever...like vegangirl, my theory is that guys don't like girls who challenge their intellect, so they go for the dumber/younger ones who don't intimidate them as much.</p>
<p>And I happen to be turned on by intellegence. The only relationships that can work for me are ones where the girl can keep me in line. Sometimes I need someone to tell me when I am acting stupid.</p>
<p>i'm just waiting for college to open up the options. Personally, i'm into fairly intelligent (not necessarily a genius), good looking girls (has to look good, i know, i'm shallow).</p>

<p>Many of the intelligent girls in my school seem to like playing boys against each other; they give the appearance of gold-diggers. The cute girls (who unfortunately are among this batch) only like "hot" (and beneath-the-surface dumb) men...and by men I mean age differences of up to 11 years.</p>
<p>If a girl makes a fool of herself, it's cute, but I know a lot of people (in the most narcissistic way possible, including myself) who are very intelligent but absent-minded and/or unintentionally funny. I really can't stand it, however, when they're <i>actually dumb</i>--it's not attractive.</p>
<p>You've got to have both looks and intelligence, with me. And I do find that it's...well, I would be embarrassed to say that it "turns me on", but something along those lines.</p>
<p>If you like surfer guys, well, expect them to go for dumb girls. All the really bright guys I know like smart girls who they really respect.</p>
<p>But this is high school. I tend to dislike the whole "business woman" thing, even though I am in high school and I don't really like women that age anyway.</p>
<p>I don't consider intellegance, really... It's about personality and looks. If she's dumb as a brick, obviously that's going to get in the way of meaningful conversation, and if she's a pretentious know-it-all that's going to get in the way of enjoying my time around her. There's not a window of GPA that i say i will date, you know? There are smart girls that i like because they're nice, cute, and funny. there are dumb (as in do badly in school) girls i like because they are nice, cute, and funny.</p>
<p>I don't know...for me, a person's intellect IS part of their personality. If we both just read this great book in English class, I'd rather that she talk about it with me than say, "Eww, books, those are uncool." I'm exagerating, of course, but I mean...it's part of the personality in my opinion.</p>
