Do hand verifications do ANYTHING?

During the bubbling process, I like to put dashes beside the questions (on the answer sheet) that I'm not sure of so that I can go back and check them if I have time. When I received my score, I was shocked that my score was around 200 points lower than what I had expected (based on my feeling after the test and previous practice test scores). I looked at the Blue Book and I found this line: "Do not make any stray marks on your answer sheet." So now I'm wondering, do stray marks sometimes mess up the electronic scoring process? And, if I choose to pay for hand verification, will Collegeboard change my score if they realize that the stray marks caused the problem?

Also, is there a way for me to order a copy of my original answer sheet without ordering and waiting 6 weeks for the QAS?

Thanks and I appreciate your time

It could but I doubt it. It wont mess it up that much. You most likely will waste the rescore fee. Study again instead?
