Do Harvard interviewers know your acceptence?

Hello,
I was just curious if the interviewers are notified of our acceptence.

Thanks

I wouldn’t think so, they’re just normal people and have most likely forgotten about you by now. You’re just 30 minutes in a sea of other interviews in a plethora of years in which they interview. And why would Harvard, or any other school in general, tell the interviewers? What reason is there?

Yes. Afterwards though, and it may not be the actual interviewer. It’s not at the same time you hear your acceptance. For one school the regional interviewer said she was informed. She was my interviewer, so I’m guessing she would know, but for others she would have to pass the info down.

My impression was that the interviewers actually are informed of our admissions decisions

My penn interviewer was aware of my acceptance but idk about harvard.

I’ve interviewed for two other top schools, and we are told after the decisions come out and encouraged to contact the accepted applicants and congratulate them, answer any questions they have, etc. We do not know the admissions decisions before the applicants themselves know.

My Brown interviewer specifically told me that he finds out a day or two after we do and asked me to email him my result

In general, contrary to @East936’s assertions, most for the first-tier LACs and National Research Universities both inform their alumni interviewers of decisions (usually a few days after the applicant knows) and ask them to send a congratulatory e-mail to those who were accepted. The reason isn’t difficult to infer: yield (as well as assisting applicants and their families, by, at a minimum, suggesting on-campus points-of-contact to resolve issues and to answer questions).

Top Tier is correct. And all the Ivys mandate a two day moratorium between the time decisions go out and time the alumni interviewer is allowed to contact candidates. That’s why they get notified later.

Yes, I got a call from my Harvard interviewer the day after I was accepted. I think that they find out shortly after the applicant does.
