Should I tell my interviewer that I got accepted, or does she already know?

Hi everyone,

By some miracle, I was accepted to Harvard's Class of 2019 through SCEA. I've been toying with the idea of e-mailing my alumni interviewer to tell her the great news, but I don't know if it would be weird, or pointless because she has some way of knowing. So... is it a good idea or not? I know it's a silly question, btw.

Thanks! :)

This from the Yale College Confidential forum, but I imagine it’s the same at Harvard: <a href=“Question for Alumni Interviewers - Yale University - College Confidential Forums”>Question for Alumni Interviewers - Yale University - College Confidential Forums;

I see no reason to not email her, let her know you’ve received the acceptance, and thank her again for talking to you. She obviously said some good things about you.

I sent an email to my alum interviewer yesterday and she told me sh had already received the good news qnd was so happy they made the “right” decision. I’m sure your interviewer would be happy to hear from you

Thanks for the advice, guys! I’m shooting her an e-mail right now. :)

As an interviewer, it is always nice to hear from your successful applicants. Actually I call them to congratulate them. You may just beat her to the punch.
