Do High School GPA and SAT Scores Matter?

I am going to go to a community college for 2 years, and then transfer to a 4-year university. Will my high school GPA and SAT scores matter when I apply as a transfer student?

Your college GPA will matter a lot more. Some schools require the SAT for transfers, some don’t.

No, they will not matter.

Is it recommended to re-take the SAT as a college student? And will colleges ask for my high school transcript or high school GPA on my transfer application?

If your a sophomore transfer, then most colleges will ask for your standardized test scores and high school transcript. If your a junior transfer, you will not need those things. Make sure to check the schools you want to transfer to be sure.

This is not the type of question you ask on a discussion forum, you go to each of the college websites that you’re interested in and read their HS transcript and SAT policies. There is no uniform answer, some schools will not require one or both, others will; go and get the current information from the primary source, the college website.

Many selective colleges require them from all applicants.

As others have already said, it really depends on the school. Some schools don’t require test scores for junior transfers, others require them of all applicants. As a junior transfer, your high school transcript and test scores will typically carry less weight, but they’ll still be a factor. They do look more closely at your work in college though generally.

True. Thanks for correcting the mistake. As everyone has stated, just check the school’s website. It’s pretty easy to find.
