Do I email in this update to my colleges?

So yesterday I was with my city’s mayor, a couple city councillors, the city manager, and the ceo of the biggest mechanical engineering company in my province, and the city councillor I was with mentioned I was looking for a job to do before and during the period I’m in college. Long story short, after explaining myself, the ceo of this company offered me a job whereby I will have the chance to work along side some of the top aerospace engineers here (don’t want to release location for privacy). Then, the city manager offered me a job as well. This sounds as crazy to you as it does to me - im still in shock a little. Anyway, the job holds practical value because I want to be a mechanical engineer, and I’ve applied to MIT, Harvard, Yale, and the whole lot. Would explaining this help the admissions officer? For reference, my dad has been out of a job for 2 years and I work 30 hours a week, so this will be a substantial upgrade from my last job in both pay and position. Also, I was thinking about taking a gap year, and this definitely makes me want to even more because I could actually save a decent amount of money. I’d love to hear some unbiased opinions ! thankss

Congratulations, this sounds like a very cool experience.

That being said, it doesn’t sound like there’s enough concrete accomplishments or updates to justify sending in an update. From what I can glean from your post, all you can say is “I met with city leaders and will be working with aerospace engineers.” If you’ve started working and have something noteworthy (i.e. Designed a new rocket for something), then send the update.
