GPA is relative. What’s the top GPA of students at your HS? If you’re very close to what the topmost scholars are achieving at your HS, this bodes better for you. Otherwise, then you’re at a severe disadvantage as Brown has a surplus of super achieving applicants.
Along with your transcript, your school generally sends a “school profile,” which gives some more information about the grading/class ranks, as well as the courses offered by your school. Besides that, the admissions office has years of data, and the specific officers know the schools in their area well. Brown is always going to consider you within the context of the opportunities that you’ve had.
