Did anyone get into Brown with a low GPA?

If there’s anyone on this forum who got accepted into Brown with a GPA of around 3.8 or lower, please share your credentials!! It’d mean so much to me. I’m trying to decide whether I should bother applying / EDing to my dream school or not…

sure this has been reported here . Each year accepted students post results threads. Look for them to see full profiles, of accepted, rejected etc, you will find variety in each pile.

If 3.8 or less is all it takes to be “low” then yeah, there are definitely going to be kids in the results thread who were accepted with that. Sub 3.5…now you’re talking about hard to find.

I have two friends who committed to the school with much lower GPAs than that. They both got football offers though.

Sure there are plenty of people who get in with 3.8 GPAs. That’s only one datapoint. It won’t give you the answer you want, since Brown looks at lots of other data when making a decision. Not to mention that you can’t compare a 3.8 at one high school to a 3.8 at another high school – it’s really meaningless.

Is GPA the ONLY reason you wouldn’t apply ED? Is there another school that you would apply to ED if not Brown? Often the best thing to do is apply to Brown ED but apply to other schools early action or rolling decision, so that if you are deferred or denied, you know early on that you have other options.
