I played school soccer in 9th & 10th grade, ran XC in 11th grade, and I’m doing track this year.
I’m involved in the robotics club, Students Against Violating the Earth club & leadership council.
Outside of school, I played intramural & travel soccer, coached a U-10 soccer team, referred, and worked at a ski mountain.
I also taught myself to play the acoustic guitar.
My teacher recommendations should be worthwhile, but I bet everyone’s are.

That’s about it. I know I could get a higher SAT I score, but I don’t really want to retake it, and I haven’t taken any SAT II tests yet. I’m not sure if I should bother. Please give me your opinion, it’d be greatly appreciated.

Your GPA is probably the single biggest issue here. I am not really sure there is much you can do to get into Brown this late in the game, besides get a top GPA at the college you end up at along with leadership so you can transfer (but dont plan on this from the start, try to enjoy wherever you are!)

mensa, thanks for the reply. I was hoping to go to Brown because of it's good reputation, being an ivy and all, and because I've read from a number of sources that it's a 'hippy school' with a social life not dominated by sororities. Also, I'd really like to be in an intellectually strong environment. Some of the other colleges I've considered are Reed (too far away for my parents) and Oberlin; do you have any other recommendations?

I guess it'd be worth a shot to explain / excuse my low GPA in an essay, or is that even possible? Are my other scores & EC up to par? Would the fact that I've taken mostly AP courses make up for my lower GPA? Again, thanks for the help.
