Hi, I have taken numerous released ACT tests, and finally achieved my goal of 35. English: 35(missed 3) Math 35 (missed 2) Reading (missed 1) Science 36(missed none). With this practice score, I am planning on taking the test on September 21st. IF I get a 35 on it, do I have a chance at Stanford or any Ivy colleges? I don't have a lot to write for my Extra Curricular activities other than Eagle Scout and Varsity Basketball team( 4 Years), MUN(4 Years), tutored some friends, and some few clubs, so I was really hoping to push my overall application with the ACT score. SAT just wasn't the test for me, as I stayed at around 2000 every time. What do I need to do (as in extra curriculars, test score, and others) to get into Stanford or Yale? Stanford is my top hope; I love the campus and its system. Do I even have a chance with my lack of extra curricular activities? If so, what can I do to add on?

Stanford SCEA: Reach

You might want to consider, as a safety, Toronto or McGill (major pending) since they do not take ECs into account (there is no reason in my mind, if your GPA is competitive for Stanford, for either school to waitlist you)

UW GPA / class rank?

Your ECs seem a little too weak for Stanford, but you still have a chance, so apply and see what happens. Good luck!:)

You have an okay chances at an Ivy League but I would add more ECs that are meaningful. However, it does bug me when someone just says “CHANCES FOR IVIES” because there is much more to the Ivy League schools than just the name. Look at schools you want to go to because they have what you’re looking for.

GPA 4.0 weighted, Got 3 B’s total sophomore year but luckily had three 5.0 classes to cover it up. I will be taking six my Junior Year.

What kind of ECs do you recommend? I will be applying for an internship at a local hospital, as I want to be a biomedical engineer.

Since you are a rising junior, you still have time to improve your EC and GPA. Your uwGPA is a bit low for Stanford as you have 3 Bs. If you can get straight A this year, you may have a better chance. Otherwise, your GPA may hinder your from top schools.
