Thoughts?

you have a good shot if 4 things happen

get your SAT up a little bit (100 points maybe)

have very good teacher recs

get a leadership position of some type if possible

wright very good essays

nothing is for sure but if you manage all that you would have an atleast somewhat solid chance.

I should have very good recs, and my essays seem to be turning out fine. I’m not sure where else I can find a leadership position now, and I’m not sure if I have the time, being treasurer of the band involves a lot of extra work as it is. As for test scores, I’m going to try, but my second time taking it my scores all stayed pretty much the same.

haha the first thing i noticed was someone advised you to “wright very good essays.” You have a chance. Know that it is a slim chance. applying ED will help you by showing your interest. 30 is a great score, unfortunately, it is low for brown. don’t get discouraged though, it is good enough. of the ivies, brown is really most random with their acceptances. it seems they are the school that isn’t all about taking kids with 36. they really look for a diverse student body, so i think if you write, yes i just spelled the word correctly, superb essays detailing what you have to add to the body, u stand as good a chance as a kid with a 3.9 and a 33

I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t wasting my time applying. Brown is my dream school, but I know realistically I’m not the strongest candidate.

I have a similar situation. I’m not perfect ivy league material but Brown is my favorite school. I’m hoping ed is enough. eep message me if you want support wallflower :)
