Hey, I’ve been stressing about getting into college and it’s college app season so you guys know how it is. My SAT has never been the best and I need to get it up. I just took one today and felt pretty good about it, but I won’t know the score until the 19th of October. Right now I have a 1350 which I know is low for Michigan, but on the upside, I have a 4.14 GPA and I’m in the top 9% of my class at my high school, which is a private college prep school in Berkeley. I have the hard background that can help me in my essays and my GPA is enough, but is that all enough to help me get by my not-so-adequate SAT score? For the most part, I took rigorous classes such as honors and APs and have gotten As in them, hence the weighted GPA. Any help is much appreciated!
Michigan only looks at unweighted scores as A=4,B=3 and so on. Sat in Mid 1400 and for engineering over 1500
I agree you need to look at your unweighted GPA. UM doesn’t care about the weighted GPA. They will look at your class rigor independently. What are your AP scores? Did you take the ACT? Subject tests? What school are you applying to? What extracurriculars are you involved in? What do you mean by “hard background?”
