I live in GA and currently attend GA Perimeter College but plan on transferring to Kennesaw State as a biology major. If I get a 4.0 in Kennesaw, score relatively well on MCATs, would I have a chance at med school?

Yes, you should say, i want to score close to perfect as possible. relatively well means you want just better than average, but lower than an A grade. your gpa seems to be good, just make sure classes can be transferred over to the new school. Your MCAT studies should begin 1 year or more before you graduate from a 4 year university, or a year b4 applying to med school.

^ A year? The MCAT shouldn’t require more than 2-3 months of semi-diligent study.

Med schools will care about all grades earned in college (even if taken in high school), so the grades you’ve already earned count, not just what you may get at Kennesaw. Without knowing grades already earned at GA Perimeter in science courses (i.e. bio, chem, physics, math), and overall GPA, MCAT score, it’s premature to venture an opinion on what your chances at med school are at this point. Also keep in mind, besides GPAs/MCAT, med schools will also care a great deal about other things like extracurriculars (e.g., shadowing, volunteering, etc), letters of recommendation from college profs, your personal statement (why are you choosing a career in medicine), how you do on an interview. So again you can see the problem with offering an opinion on your chances at this point, there’s just too many unknowns. When you get to Kennesaw talk to advisor. Good luck.
