SAT: N/A

I'm taking the SATs on march.

I'm freaked out about the C in pre-cal, and the just the mediocre grades!

I am planning to major in Journalism/ mass comm.

I've read that oregon university has a great department in journalism.

So, do i actually have a chance?

Lol stop worrying so much. Your basically a shoe in if you get somewhat decent SAT scores.

Salt: haha people tell me that I freak out for no reason, yet I'm asian and a 'C' is a big "no" in my family of pressure and insanity. Asian moms + C = havoc. ajdfkjakfjs

I seriously want to escape from California and go somewhere else.

Oregon isn't hard to make. You should be fine.

University of Oregon
Percent of Applicants Admitted: 88.1%
Test Scores -- 25th / 75th Percentile
SAT Critical Reading: 490 / 600
SAT Math: 500 / 620

youll be good i think

okay then.

I have question.

What other colleges are recommended for my stats?

Its hard to say without having SAT scores....as sad as it is they kinda dictate a lot.

I don't think Oregon is much competitive, and dont usually hear much about it. Looks like you have a decent chance.

California residents with good grades don't generally look to public universities in Oregon, when they've got arguably the top public university system at their disposal at in-state rates.

Our school sends almost as many students to Oregon as to many of the UC's, hence the nickname around here "UC Eugene". Be aware that you will be paying out of state tuition.

You mean U of O? trust me you're more than fine. If you mean OSU than you're even safer.

I live in california..

but my problem is, the UC's (i'm going to apply there too) are great, but I want to go to college OUTSIDE of cal.

I want to major in journalism/mass comm. (it may change perhaps).

Does anyone have good suggestions with my stats to where i could possibly be admitted?

The University of Oregon (not Oregon University) has a good journalism program, and your stats look fine for admittance. Good luck!

Yes! To make it clear I meant University of ORegon. I want to know how their journalism program is... Is it good, as in will it give me a good path to succeed in the journalism world? thanks

Also check out the University of Missouri in Columbia. Their Journalism school is second to none, they are roughly as selective as the University of Oregon and Columbia, like Eugene, is a great college town.
