Hi, I'm a senior in High School, and I'm going to Fordham next fall, but I'm in a precarious position because I didn't really know what I wanted my college experience to be like until apps had already been sent out. I didn't apply to BC, but as I've done more research, I've really fallen in love with the school.
My current high school GPA is a 3.98
ACT: 31/36
I'm the editor-in-chief of my school paper, I do lots of volunteer work, I'm on a few student boards for different arts organizations, and I've been the arts rep for my schools ASB for the past two years.

I have three questions: What else does the BC transfer process require? Is there any benefit to applying to be a Spring 2013 transfer or should I wait to apply for Fall 2013? And lastly, do I seem like I'd have a good chance at being accepted as a transfer?

Thanks so much!

Transferring in spring as a freshman is very difficult, because you don’t even have a single semester of college under your belt.

Is financial aid an issue?

You need to start by going to the BC website. That’s where you’ll find out what BC requires for transfers; and information like this:

[Transfer Admission Procedures - Office of Undergraduate Admission - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/content/bc/admission/undergrad/transfer/admissionprocedures.html)

Will your family need financial aid?

Most transfer students do not receive adequate aid. If you really want to go BC that much, then take a gap year and apply. However, realize that admission to BC isn’t a given. If you feel that you want a college education that Fordham can’t give you, then apply with a new list of colleges you like next year (reaches, matches, safeties). You could spend the gap year doing anything- working, volunteering, etc.

If you aren’t worried about financial aid, go ahead and try to transfer from Fordham. However, I suggest that you keep an open mind and do your best at Fordham. It’s a great school and you may end up loving it!
