<p>Hey everyone, I would really appreciate it if you could chance me. I'm a senior at a public school in Texas and am looking to major in Biology or pre-Med. I was born in China and both my parents went to college in China and a graduate school in Florida. My parents are married but one lives out of state.</p>

<p>I'm interested in applying to the following colleges:
Tier 1
-Princeton
-Harvard
-Penn
-Columbia
-MIT
-Duke</p>

<p>Tier 2
-UNC Chapel Hill
-NYU
-Johns Hopkins
-Washington St. Louis</p>

<p>Tier 3
-UT Austin (I live in Texas so it's easy)
-Michigan Ann Arbor
-Florida</p>

<p>I've taken 15 AP classes in 4 years at my school and have gotten straight A's. I had 1 freshman year, 2 sophomore, 7 junior, and 5 senior.</p>

<p>Rank: 3/550
GPA: 4.0/4.0 (Unweighted) 5.65 (Weighted where AP class=6.25, Pre-AP=6.0, Regular=5.0)</p>

<p>SAT CR: 680 (I'm retaking this in October so it'll go up)
SAT M: 780
SAT W: 800 (11 on essay)
SAT Math II: 800
SAT Chem: 790
SAT US History: 780</p>

<p>ACT Composite: 35
ACT Math: 36
ACT Science: 36
ACT English: 34
ACT Reading: 32
ACT Essay: 9</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
-Founded tutoring group at school (new club this year)
-President of HoSA (new club this year)
-Vice-President of Key Club
-Others: NHS, Spanish NHS, Band for 2 years
-Played piano for 7 years (no significant awards or certifications won but can play Beethoven sonatas including Appassionata, Liszt's Liebestraum, and Chopin's Fantasie-Impromptu)
-Played saxophone for 5 years
-Taught myself HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript, created website that offers a free alternative to pirating digital media
-Paid writer for online Apple news site for 1 year
-Volunteered at local library for 4 years
-Volunteered at local hospitals this past summer
-Volunteered for city events</p>

<p>Recommendations: should be good, I'm using teachers that have taught me for 2 years and like me. There's 600 students for each counselor at my school so that one won't be so good.</p>

<p>Essays: should be good, I have my topics set and have been working on them already. </p>

<p>Do I have a chance of getting into any of my Tier 1 or Tier 2 colleges? Is there anything else I could do at this point to help?</p>

<p>I think you have a great chance at all of your schools Harvard, Princeton, and MIT might be a little more challenging, but you can apply EA to MIT and Harvard! Being Chinese may hurt you at MIT, but other than that I think you’re set! Good luck and just be sure to show why you want to go there, it simply being a great school doesn’t count!!</p>

<p>I think you will do great and here are my chances.</p>

<p>Tier 1
-Princeton - reach, I think you have good academics and ECs so it should be good but can’t say for sure
-Harvard - high reach just cause of acceptance rate and its harvard
-Penn - UPenn? low reach
-Columbia - strong applicant pool but you’ll fit in nicely so reach
-MIT - you need huge science achievements to be certain but I think you still have a good shot, mid-reach
-Duke - reach but more likely</p>

<p>Tier 2
-UNC Chapel Hill - you’re probably in
-NYU - match, maybe in
-Johns Hopkins - not sure
-Washington St. Louis - its challenging but your stats are good so match</p>

<p>Tier 3
-UT Austin- you’re in
-Michigan Ann Arbor - you’re in most likely
-Florida - UF? if so you’re in</p>
