do i have a chance of getting into syracuse?

<p>i'm currently a junior in high school with a gpa of 3.5 (non-weighted) about 3.7(weighted)
i plan to take sum AP's next yr to boost it up maybe to 3.8 nonweighted and like 4.1-4.2 (weighted)
i've done about 55 hrs of volunteering
took my SATs got 550 in reading 490 in math and 510 (def plan to take it again)
i live in Los Angeles
I am of Salvadorean descent
no one in my family has gone to university
my financial situation is not very good
i played soccer for 2 yrs
and im in the spanish club at school
Please I would like somebody to let me know what my chances are and what kind of improvements I should make to increase my chances
i plan on studying either business administration or sociology and then get into a good law school</p>

<p>Regardless of how many APs you take, I doubt that your gpa will improve by that much next year, especially as APs will be harder than you are used to so you cant assume you will get an A in them. ECs are weak, needs leadership! Go to collegedata.com for an accurate representation of your chances, though. Kids on college confidential have high standards. :)</p>

<p>Yes, you have a very good chance. This is a large school so they can accept many more people. They have a high acceptance rate for a university rated this high in ratings like the U.S. News report. See if your school has a system like Naviance that plots the acceptance rates of your school related to different colleges. You will get a better feel for it. Only negative - you are from LA so realize that Syracuse is the snowiest place in the U.S.! But maybe the change will be fun, dress warmly!</p>
