Chances of getting to Amherst, Dartmouth, U o Chicago, and Syracus?
Here’s my background:
18, half javanese/malay.
Nationality: Indonesian.
Language: I speak Indonesia and malay fluently, basic javanese, and I also can read Arabic.
GPA:
Sociology, Geography, History: 85/100, 86/100, 89/100.
Economy: 80/100.
English: 96/100.
Bahasa Indonesia: 85/100.
Math: 80/100.
Computer Science: 80/100.
Fine Arts: 87/100.
Germany: 85/100.
TOEFL: 100.
SAT/ACT: Due to my education and financial background, plus I live in a rural area, I can’t take it.
Honors/Awards/Activities:
- I was in student council for nearly two and a half years as a secretarial field, and I have organized various events like fundraising/charity, football league, orientation day for incoming juniors (camping, bonfire, and etc), alumni days, school fun day that successfully managed to hook both international and national companies as our sponsors and etc.
- A lead coordinator for performing Arts for nearly 2 and a half years.
- A lead coordinator for senior farewell party for 2 occasions.
- A lead coordinator for football league for nearly 2 and a half years,
- Was a twitter mananger for my school’s for nealy 2 and a half years and have managed to gain almost 3.000 followers there.
- One of English club founders in my school and we have managed to send two members to the national-level debate.
- Was a freelance writer and journalist, my works have been published into local newspaper and local television.
- A winner in several debates
- Often named as the best speaker in various debate competition and seminar as well.
- was in geography olympic club (grade 10), was in economic olympic club (11), and LLC MPR as well (this is a club which emphasis students to memorize Indonesian state laws and debate it afterwards).
- One of the staff coordinator and chamberlain for senior year book.
- One of the staff coordinator for Catatan Akhir Sekolah.
Last but not least, I also made good essays, sumpbmitted art suplements and received good recommendations too.
So guys, do I stand a chance? I need your honest opinion. And if I don’t, can you suggest me some good schools that stand a chance without hurting my aplication, because I’m going to apply for financial aid too.
