hooks/unusual circumstances :
-I've moved to several schools and I viewed it as quite challenging
-The project/initiatives I've done with my Leo club. We put ssome boxes in spectacle shops around singapore to collect used glasses which then will be recycled and donated overseas. In thsi intitiatives we had some support from one of the polytechnics in singapore and one of the biggest chain of spectacles shops in singapore.
-I have witnessed the riots when I was in Indonesia and became a refugee.
- fluent in three languages

Well, that's a glimpse about me and I am really sorry for my grammar. I'm not a good story teller/writer either;I'm sure you can see that hahahaha I just hope it's not gonna cause a problem in making my essay.

and YES, i'll apply with FA

bumps!!! 10 char…

Roll a set of dice. If they come up 10, you are so in!!! Good luck.

thanks…^^
any better way ??

Dartmouth, I believe, is need-blind for both domestic and international students so FA should not have any impact whatsoever on your chances. Your “refugee status” stands out, though a 2150 is not that good of a score for Dartmouth and nor is your subject test scores.

I don’t want to discourage you in any way but I don’t think you’re a likely candidate.

@xava : No… it’s ok !! I know my SATs lower than the average admitted students…
But can the other aspects like my ECs and awards pay off my lack in stellar SAT scores ?
Hm… anything you can suggest me to do in order to improve my chance

hahaha and btw I’m no longer a refugee… It was 5 years ago and it was really horrible… bombings, snipers, hostage taking…

bumps…10char

Even though your SATs are on the lower range, your competitions and olympiads are stellar!

I think the two even each other out. SATs aren’t everything. Just my two cents.

hm… thanks a lot… it’s encouraging…

im an international too. last year i was waitlisted and afterwards offered a place. i was unable to take it though because i had already commited to a scholarship elsewhere in europe. in the end my SATS were 2050 and i applied for a ****load of financial aid. I actually believe that you have a good chance of acceptance because SATs and standarized tests arent as important for internationals and you do very well elsewhere. However, what will screw you over (this is where international applicants lose out big), as it screwed me over is FA. if you need lots of it like i do “need blind” is a relative term. So, that will have great sway on your acceptance. BUT if they truly believe that you are worth it, they do provide it way more decently than other schools.
I’m applying as a transfer this year to see if they will take me in again. i they take us both, then i hope i get to meet you.

Hi !
thanks for your encouragement !
I hope I can see you if-God permits-I get admitted…
May I ask you something ? Are you from asia ?
