I'm going to be a Junior in high school and was curious of what my chances are to go to UCLA, UCI, UCSB, UCSD

Freshman Year :
Algebra 1:B
Health:A
English 9th grade CP:B
Earth Science (my 8th grade teacher made a mistake):A
P.E:A
Spanish 1:B

GPA unweighted 3.5

Sophomore year :
English 10th grade CP:B
Spanish 2:B
Geometry:C
World History:A
P.E:A
Biology:A

GPA unweighted 3.3

Haven't taken my SATS yet but aiming for 2000+

This upcoming school year I'm taking, Algebra 2, US history, Spanish 3, Chemistry, AP English, and i'm going to push my elective class to senior year and take Honors Physics this year so it can make up for my science. I'm really going to try my best this year because I want to go to a good college more than ever and I hope its not too late.

Do I have a chance from just these statistics?

I am not sure about getting into those Universities specifically but you have more of a chance to get in UCR, UCSC, and UCM much more likely. I think the grades you have are okay but they do not make you stand out of a crowd really. Change your classes this year to more Honors and AP classes. Like make 4 or 5 of them AP. And try to get those same grades or better. AP classes look really good for college even if you don’t pass the AP exam because they show that you are challenging yourself. My cousin used to work for the admission of a UC and that’s what he told me.

I don’t think you can get into UCLA or UCSD but you could probably get into some of the lower UCs like UCM and UCR. If you have outstanding SATs and ECs then you should be able to get into higher UCs too
Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1367096-chance-me-ucla.html

honestly, i think that you should focus on your junior grades right now, because those matter more than the freshman grades, if you understand what I mean… you can’t fix your grades from before, but if you work hard, then you have a shot at reaching those schools. Just change the study habits that weren’t too beneficial, pay more attention in class, and put more effort in your work. If you do all that, then i don’t see why you can’t raise your grades and make yourself a candidate for at least one, if not more of these schools

I agree with all of the posters above and specifically highlight unluckystudent’s post here. Make your classes harder this coming year to show that you can challenge yourself, but, more importantly, get good grades. I wouldn’t make four or five of them APs, but two or three should be okay. That said, the first year I took any APs I took four, and my grades went up rather than down like I’d predicted, so who knows.
