Do I Have A Decent Chance At Cornell Engineering?

Hi, please give me some input...

Ethnicity: South Asian
Gender: M
International, been in the US for past four years.

[ b]Stats:[ /b][ list]
[ *] SAT:790 Math; 650 Verbal; 720 WRT
[ *] SAT mathII 800 790 mathI 800 USHistory 750Phys
[ *] GPA: 3.94 UW 4.20 W
[ *] Rank: TOP 10%
[ /list]
[ b]Subjective:[ /b][ list]
[ *] Essays: Awesome!
[ *] Teacher Recs: Insanely Great!
[ *] Counselor Rec: Very Good, but I won't say excellent
[ /list]

I'd say your an average candidate only b/c engineering is a very tough school and you will see many other applicants with the same stats as you and many others with higher credentials. But if your essays and teacher recs are as great as you think they are, that might be what pushes you over the edge. Any extracurrics?

I disagree. Everything up there is excellent, especially if your rank isn't just barely top 10% but simply in the top 10%.

If you have some solid EC's I think you'll get in, assuming your essays and recs are as good as you say.

Bump~

Anyone Else?

wait how many years do u have to be here for to change from international to domestic

huh..........?

I would guess long enough to become a US citizen.

dude i think you have a great chance of getting in. Hopefully I can get admitted too.

Your numbers look fine, but those'll just put you past the first cut (figuratively speaking). I think you'll need some good engineering-related EC's to get in.

You have a decent chance, but that's assuming you have some good ECs too.
