Do I have a good chance at University of Chicago for Economics

I am a Junior in California

Race: Chinese
GPA:
Freshman: 3.8
Sophomore: 3.8, 4.1 Weighted
Junior: 4.0, 4.6 Weighted
SAT: 2320
EC's: Started a teaching organization for multiple local schools. I have interned with a State Senator, and have down the FTE program. I have also been accepted into TSAP for this summer.

I'm not in many clubs, I used to do debate, I was in MUN, but I chose to focus on my own EC's over the ones the school offered. What are my chances at any top economics program/humanities, especially University of Chicago? Will my lack of clubs hurt my chances, or are my other EC's enough?

You’re EC’s will definetly look a bit dry on paper to an admissions officer at a top university such as UChicago, but do not worry too much. Youre academic side is strong. I would recommend perhaps involving yourself in some economics clubs at school maybe to show your interest. And if there arent any, make one! Add that to your EC’s! universities love students who show intiative. I had started a business/econ blog group in school, where people posted their written articles about their viewpoints on things happening in the world’s economic sector… Do something along those lines.

Yeah, your EC’s look pretty bland. Your GPA is good and your SAT is great. It’s a reach simply because of the 8% acceptance rate, but you have some chance.
