Do I have a shot at any good colleges?

I’m currently a sophomore and I only have a 90 average, and last year, I also got a 90 average(don’t know what GPA). Compared to all the other kids in my school, a 90 isn’t all that high. I’m only in 2 community service clubs, and I’m planning to get a summer job. I’m trying to get into a reputable college and I’m not sure if I can. Trying to become a pharmacist btw.

P.S. I worked as a teacher assistant during the summer before my freshman year. Can I put that on my college app?

You can probably get into a good, reputable college - but that depends on your definition for that. What does that term mean to you? HYPSM, top 20, top 50, or a decent state flagship? You need to define that.

Not Ivy League, but better than what most kids are getting into.

Better how? More expensive? More selective? What do you want to major in?

Better as in more selective. Not sure what major yet, but whatever helps me become a pharmacist.

What is your financial outlook for college? i.e., Are you needing big scholarship money?

Does your state flagship college have a pharmacy program?

@albert69‌ scholarship money would be nice, yes.
@fauve yes, NY.

Is a 90 a B or an A in your school?

@jeremyl17 not sure, probably a B though cause it’s a specialized HS

Good. Have you looked up the average GPA of pharmacy admits? If you are looking at out of state, for example Michigan, do check if your 90 is competitive. Google Common Data Set for the college.

I’m not too familiar with colleges in New York, but I hear SUNY schools are great if you’re looking to stay in state and don’t want to reach out too high in competitive colleges.

There are several thousand good colleges in the US. Maybe start with your state university…

That 90 average with four solid AP classes and an 1800 SAT and you’re set for pretty much all the SUNY colleges.
