Do I have a shot at any of these schools?

I'm a junior on my 2nd semester and I have a cummulative of 2.4 right now. I realize that the end of this semester is my last chance to raise my GPA. I won't have a 3.0, but maybe my ECs and ACT or SAT scores will balance it out?

I'm hoping that by the end of this semester I'll be able to raise my cummulative GPA up to a 2.6.

Here are some of my ECs:

Volunteered for First 5 regularly for 4 months sophomore year

Have been volunteering for LIFE animal rescue since freshman year

In the “Health Science Academy” at my school

Receptionist/MA at Park Lane Urgent Care & Family practice

First Aid, Aed, and Cpr certified

VP of Morin Medical Corp.

(I'm trying to remember more ECs, I know i've done alot more)

I'm not dumb, I've just been self absorbed in her social life (which I regret so much). I've never drank or tried drugs. I'm not depressed. There have been no overwhelming deaths in my family. There's no good excuse to why I've been such a failure.

I seriously do not want to go to community college.

.........................................................................
I'm looking into:
- Cal State Channel Islands
- CSUN
- ASU
- Cal State Long Beach

Erose: The cool thing about college is that everyone gets to start over and once you graduate no one will care about high school. Are you a Cali resident if so if you don’t get in this year, go to community college and then get in under a strong mandate from the state. GL

If you are a California resident, you can get into a non-impacted major at a non-impacted CSU campus if you have completed the a-g subject requirements and your GPA and test scores meet the following:
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Eligibility Index - California Residents](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>GPA Calculator | CSU)
Note that GPA is calculated this way (grade in 9th grade do not count, although they must be C or higher to fulfill the a-g subject requirements):
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - GPA Calculator](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)

However, many campuses and majors are impacted. See the following:
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Campuses That Have Higher Standards](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)
[Impaction | Student Academic Support | CSU](http://www.calstate.edu/sas/impactioninfo.shtml)

Your local CSU may give you some preference, according to http://www.calstate.edu/sas/publications/documents/CSULocalAdmission-ServiceAreas.pdf</a> .

Currently, of those you list, Channel Islands is not campus-impacted, but the nursing (basic) major is major-impacted. Northridge is campus-impacted, although only the business major is major-impacted. All majors are major-impacted at Long Beach.
