I am going to be a senior next year with a weighted GPA of around 3.26 and unweighted GPA of around 2.52. My school also did GPA kind of strangely since my first two years there we had a 7 point scale and my last two year will be on the 10 point scale. I’ve also taken 4 AP’s and 8 honors courses when I graduate it will be 4 and 11. I have a 20 on my ACT and am retaking it soon because I know I can score higher. When I graduate my GPA should be around 3.4 Weighted while my unweighted would be around a 2.72.Any advice on my chances are appreciated.
Isn’t there a community college on UK’s campus? Maybe it would be good to try that for a year or 2.
I think your chances are low, but it’s still worth applying.
Just to add more info on this thread the AP courses I have taken are AP human geo, AP world history, apush, and Ap psych. My honors courses are all honors English 1-4, honors chem, earth and environmental, biology and math 2 the rest are electives. I am also 25% NA im not sure how much that will help. Thanks again for the advice.

I think you have a shot. It depends on more than your GPA, though. Even though the minimum GPA to be considered for admission is a 2.0, the average UK GPA (based on what I googled) is around 3.6. So I will say that you are at a slight disadvantage there. The average at UK is around a 25 (again, from what I googled), so maybe that can be your goal.
Are you a resident of Kentucky? My guess is that would help. Take a look at the requirements for admission and the average grades/scores of students who were admitted, that should help you get an idea of where you stand.
Anyway, good luck!
No im from North Carolina and my goal is to be a pharmacist and I know I have pretty much no chance whats so ever at chapel hill so im between Kentucky,Wingate(Private) Campbell(Private) and High Point university( also private). Thanks again for the feedback.
You could always do BCTC for the first year or two and then transfer to UK. Oftentimes BCTC students can take classes at UK as well. Hope this helps. I don’t think your chances are very good though since UK considers unweighted GPA and yours is lower than the average is here, as is your ACT. Best of luck and Go Cats!
