Do I have a shot? Chance me for the class of 2022!

I’m worried that my low unweighted may put me out of the running at some of these schools, although my SAT and the fact that I’m Hispanic may make up for it- thoughts?
I’m interested in studying political science and international relations(have shown a big focus on both in ECs) and I’m looking at Brown (Early Decision), Georgetown, Princeton, Williams, Claremont McKenna, Pomona, American, and Amherst.

Academics:
SAT: 1530: 750 R/W 780 M
SAT II: Waiting for scores back on Math II, Literature, and Spanish - I predict I’ll get 700+ on all
GPA: 4.64 Weighted
3.76 Unweighted (yikes) --> Have taken entirely IB/AP/Honors classes (besides Health and PE) throughout high school, so B’s coming from those more challenging classes, and are almost exclusively in the STEM areas, which I do not want to go into at all
AP/IB: Waiting on scores back on AP Lang, AP Comp Sci, AP Spanish, and a few others. I predict I’ll get mostly 4s and 5s
Taking Junior and Senior College level Spanish Classes with at the flagship University in my state because I went through all the Spanish at my High school

Awards: National Hispanic Recognition Program (applied, and had a phone call with someone who works there who said that I have “an extremely high chance”)

Extra Curriculars:
Model UN: 10, 11(Director of Fundraising), 12(President)
Young Democrats: 10, 11(Director of Communications), 12(President)
Varsity Debate: 11, 12(Captain)
Aeronautics and Space Association Club: 9,10
Baseball Team: 9, 10(Varsity)
Intern with the Democratic Party in my county- worked on local house rep’s campaign, local senators campaign, and Hilary’s campaign (was for about 6 months)
Research Assistant at a Political Science research lab at the flagship University in my state (11, 12)
Intern at a national nonprofit- worked on their state legislative and congressional lobbying team

Volunteer/Community service:
Volunteer at a local community center helping to tutor and educate low-income Hispanic youth (150+ hrs)

Other
State (if domestic applicant): CO
School Type: Public, extremely competitive
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Gender: Male
Hooks: URM- Hispanic

Thanks for your time! And I’d be happy to chance back.

Yes, you have a good chance. You might want to try to look for more award opportunities though.

^ I agree with the previous poster! Your internship looks great look for more opportunities like those. It shows that you are dedicated more which I assume is something law related??? Your GPA is okay not too bad and your scores are fantastic. Your clubs are a little typical but that’s okay I don’t see a problem with it. Just try to do more stuff and do things that really are out of the ordinary.

The thing with the schools you are applying to is that they reject 4.0s and accept 3.5’s and it seems random. So while having a 4.0 is certainly helpful, it might not mean everything. So you definitely have a chance, and you take all honors classes which is a plus

Your stats and your profile look great! The low scores in STEM may be a problem for Princeton, but nothing that would take you out of the running. Claremont McKenna and Pomona will love you for being male and out of state- they traditionally have a deficit of both. I think your odds are quite good at Georgetown as well.

I would say you are definitely a solid applicant. Your UW GPA may seem a bit low, but your W GPA is relatively high and will show these colleges that you really pushed yourself in high school and took the most rigorous classes available to you. Your test scores are stellar so I would not worry about those either. Your ECs look fantastic! They are centralized around a particular focus (which I assume is law or politics based on your ECs) and they are very impressive. Colleges will like that you interned for the democratic party, researched political science at a university, and interned at a political non-profit. Your ECs are stellar, and I would definitely say you have a really good chance of getting into these schools. Good luck!
