Yes, you have a great shot. When we visited a year ago (son’s junior year), the average SAT of an enrolling freshman was 1220-1380(CR+M) and average ACT was 27-31, and they recommended you rank in the upper quartile of your HS class; average unweighted GPA was 3.65-3.95. They recommended a rigorous high-school curriculum consisting of 4 units of English, 4 of college-prep/advanced math, 3 of history or social studies, 3 of lab science including either chemistry or physics, 2 electives, and 1 unit of foreign language. You don’t mention your rank, and I don’t see a foreign language, but it looks like you are right there in the mix with everything else you mention. And, based on the info we received during our visit, your stats should qualify you for around $12K scholarship, assuming you keep up the good work. $12K was the going offer for these stats: Comp ACT >/= 29 or SAT >/= 1300 (CR+M) and HS GPA >/= 3.5 OR Comp ACT >/= 28 or SAT >/= 1260 (CR+M) and HS GPA >/= 4.0. Good luck.

You have nice stats and I would think that being female would be a plus. Our son was waitlisted to Mines and he has pretty good stats. (We were surprised as his scores appear to be in their top quartile) GPA 4.0W/4.8UW, M + CR 1500, ACT 34,NMF, rank 1/175, SAT II Math 2 - 800, Physics 780. I have not heard if Mines likes you to express interest or not, but it couldn’t hurt to register at their website, visit if possible, or attend an admissions event if they have one in your area.

Better than my stats haha 30 ACT 3.8 GPA decent ECs but they weren’t related to engineering at all

I was denied this year for geophysical engineering. Also I got a free application in the mail because I talked to the admission rep when he came to my school so you should meet with a rep at a college fair or something and you may get it too.

I got in with 3.86 UW and 29 on ACT. Also received a $12,000 annual scholarship.

You have the exact stats as I did, slightly lower GPA but more EC’s. I was waitlisted though, not sure why. Also from NY
