Do I Have an Advantage?

Several of my teachers have said that when I apply to college, I'll have an advantage because I come from a Title I high school. According to schooldigger.com, my school is ranked 969th out of 1287. It's an urban school with the majority of students being minorities from low-income families.

Will relatively prestigious colleges (i.e. Rice, Georgetown, etc.etc.) view my application differently because of this? We don't have a lot of extracurricular organizations and AP courses are very limited.

If it helps, I'm a white female and I'm currently ranked third out of about 700 kids. I also have the highest SAT/PSAT/ACT scores of my class.

This is why your school hopefully has a profile that your GC sends in conjuction with your evaluation/transcripts. You would be evaluated in context of how well you took advantage of the opportunities presented. Your GC should be the one mentioning this in your evaluation/recommendation.
