WashU is my top choice, but not enough to apply ED. That is out of the Q. I heard they take interest into account so how can I show that? I've visited the campus already, but I'm not sure what else to do. Can I interview there? How would I set that up? Do I have any shot? Thanks!

Hello fellow HSL 2014er.

Definitely a reach, but then again this school is a reach for anybody.

32+ or 2200+ would really help your chances. A good improvement for the midyear report might be beneficial as well, especially to “hide” the junior year C. I’m wishing us all luck!! :D

My junior year C was so upsetting. It’s the only C I’ve gotten and hopefully the only one I will get. And good luck to you too

Well, you’ve got a shot. GPA and SAT are a bit low (a 2200/32 would still be on the lower end of accepted students, but is reasonable). ECs look pretty good - couldn’t tell if you had any volunteer work? jobs? leadership? Campus visit is good start. You should request to join their mailing list. You can also set up an on-campus interview here: [url=<a href=“http://admissions.wustl.edu/visit/Pages/Campus-Visit-FAQs.aspx]Campus”>http://admissions.wustl.edu/visit/Pages/Campus-Visit-FAQs.aspx]Campus Visit FAQs | Undergraduate Admissions | Washington University in St. Louis/url.

Assuming that your recs and essays are good, I’d say you have a decent shot. Not a sure acceptance by any means, but then again, is it ever?

Thank you! Unfortunately, I cannot visit again, but I would like to interview even if with an Alum. I’m assuming my recs will be good, but who can say for sure if they haven’t read them.

Focus on the ACT. Not many people improve their SAT score on the 3rd attempt by 210 points.

My tutor is the one who thinks I can improve CR and W. One thing is that I didn’t work extremely hard for the other attempts so really working may help. But I’m taking both anyway. Thanks anyway!

The SAT is a reasoning test. The ACT test subject matter knowledge more - it seems to be more inline with the subject matter in your courses in high school.
