Do I have any chance?

<p>My stats are: high school GPA 3.83</p>

<p>SAT: 1690 without studying but retaking in october and hoping for a 1900+. (I get around 1900 on the practice test but for some reason on the actual test I do much worse. I think I get very nervous and it effects my score :(</p>

<p>lots of EC, work experience, volunteer</p>

<p>I’m going to work a lot on my personal statement. I’m a good writer so I am hoping this will give me a better chance.</p>

<p>I’m applying to many backup schools but I am hoping to get into at least one UC.</p>

<p>I will be applying to:</p>

<p>UCSB
UCD
UCSD(where my brother goes)</p>

<p>Do I have a shot any any one of these schools? Please be honest. Advice would be great!</p>

<p>If you are able to rase your SAT score (which you probably will since you scored a 1690 w/o studying), you should be able to get into UCSB or UCD. UCSD is a long shot as you will not get preferential treatment because of your brother.</p>
