Do I have any chance?

I am going into Senior year now.

I have around an 3.78 GPA unweighted and a 3.9 weighted I am pretty sure

I got a 33 on my ACT (35 E, 34 M, 31 R, 32 S) but my best reading score was a 33.
My SAT was a 1910 but I only took it once and will probably rely on my ACT scores since they are better.

My EC are Orchestra, Beta Club, French NHS, Science NHS, Junior Cabinet, Tri-M, private cello lessons.

I’ve gone to the County Science Fair twice, once in 8th grade where I won 2nd place, and another in 10th grade where I was an honorable mention.

I am in the top quarter of my class

I am a white female

My AP classes are: AP World History (3) AP Physics B (waiting to see score) APUSH (waiting to see score) AP Lit, and next year I will take AP Psych, AP Chemistry, AP Lang, AP Calc BC, AP Gov, AP Econ, and will be in my top level orchestra class if that counts.

I would like to major in Chemistry. I got a natural 100 in my (gifted, not AP… taking AP senior year) chem class if that matters.

I didn’t realize how weak my stats are until just now…

I forgot to mention, I always tutor people in math and I am teaching myself Spanish and Italian

Yes you have a chance. Is it a high one, no, it’s just the way Stanford admissions works.

Stanford will be considered a high reach for you due to your 3.78 GPA but if your essays, recs etc. are outstanding, then with some luck you may get in.

Your chances are near zero at Stanford.

The good news is that there are hundreds of fine universities at which you can develop your talents and shine. There is no point in being fixated on a single thing. Put your efforts into something productive.

Very, very slim chance unless you’re URM or something. Build your ECs and stuff. You should retake ACT. I think 33 is below Stanford average.

Thing is, while your ECs are pretty good, you don’t have a single academic record that shows how smart you are, unless you get a few 5s in your APs and 780+s in 2 subject tests

Jeez… Your ACT score is not the problem. Once you get above like a 31-32, top tier schools focus on other things like essays and extracurriculars. Your activities are kind of generic. Make sure you are doing the activities because it interest YOU, show commitment and passion. You have slim chances but apply! You never know!

I’m a current Stanford student so I hope my advice can be of some use.

Your GPA is on the low side, so that’s a major detracting point. You can get in, but I’d be lying if I said it’s going to be easy. My advice is to go ball-to-the-wall on the essays. Make them as personable and unique as possible. They want to see personality. Don’t worry about making yourself look good or whatever, just stand out.

I agree with @sweeetea. Your ACT and scores are on the lowish side, but that could potentially be overcome if you stood out in other ways. But your activities do come across as rather generic. Stanford looks for people who want to be a force in the world, and they will sometimes overlook a few flaws in favor of outstanding drive and individuality. Generic - even with perfect grades and scores - usually doesn’t count for that much.
