Thanks for taking time to evaluate my chances.

You have good test scores but a very weak gpa/rank... I don't know if your counselor can explain it away. Top 20% gets you nothing at Penn. You also have nice ECs, but considering your rank, your essays and recs need to be great, not decent. If you do have the amazing essays/recs then you may have a shot, however small, at the College. Don't get ur hopes up too high for SEAS and definitely not Wharton. Good luck.

I think you have a fairly good chance. Your counselor will have to do a good job with damage control for your GPA, though. Get more leadership ECs too, if it isn't too late for that...

Thanks, and yea I'm applying to the College. As for the weak weighted GPA, my old school in NY had only academic and advanced classes, so when I moved to my new school, all my freshman + sophomore credits counted as either academic or advanced credits, while around one third of my class has taken all honors courses since their freshman years. Thus there was no way I could catch up.. it's a miracle I'm even at 20% right now. =p

It goes like this in my school to calculate the weighted GPA which determines your rank

Academic: A: 4 B: 3 C: 2 D:1
Advanced: A:5 B:4 C:3 D:2
Honors/AP: A:6 B:5 C:4 D:3

So this makes the weighted GPA out of 6.0 though because of some required academic classes the highest GPA possible is around 5.7

Lol I wouldn't think this would help much anyway, but I'm glad that you guys think
I have higher than 5% chances.

Which HS?

Bellaire? Dulles? Clements?

Umm, Fort Bend Austin =p

Oh, the worthless FBISD school :P

lol, which hs do you go to? =p and Austin is the greatest of all. =p

Oh and how about you gimme some comments, dont care it's a hard slap on the face

SATs are a bit low.

Did anyone from Austin apply early?
I asked around, cinco ranch->2 deferred, clear lake->2 deferred, kinkaid->1 deferred, at my school I got in and 2 were deferred
