Do I have any possible chance?

I am currently at a CC. I will be graduating with my AA-T in psychology this fall. I applied to CSULB, CSUN, and CSUF. My GPA is not the best. I have no hopes right now really because I keep reading posts of people’s GPA’s being 3.6 and they still don’t get in. My current GPA is 2.8 I’m hoping to get it up to a 2.9-3.0 (I really messed up my first year of colleges) so when I graduate and transfer it could get bumped up to 3.0-3.1 I have my golden four courses completed and more than 60 units. I am a California resident but do not live in the area of any of these schools. I am a psychology major. Is there any possibility I could get accepted?

All the schools will be a tough admit if your GPA is under 3.0. Not being local will also hurt your chances. Psych is impacted at CSUF and CSULB but not CSUN, but I saw posts last year if you were an out of area transfer applicant, you needed a 3.8+ GPA for any chance at CSUN. Definitely apply to all, but you need some backup schools. I would apply to at least one of the non-impacted campuses such as Channel Islands, Dominguez Hills, East Bay, Bakersfield or Stanislaus as a safety, then consider San Marcos, Sac State, SFSU, SJSU as Match schools.
