do i have any shot?

applied regular decision
out of state from a highly ranked high school in CT
gpa is 2.9, i know that's low, but once i saw jmu i really started working hard and have a 3.9 for my senior year so far..
ACTs, 27
captain of track, cross country
plenty of ECs and lots of community service

i know that the gpa is going to really hurt me, but i fell in love with jmu.. do i have a shot?

oh, and the gpa is a 3.2 weighted…

ACT is very good, as are the EC’s. Only thing hurting you is the GPA. They say they want an A/B average, and you basically have a solid B average so I’d say that if you’ve been in AP/Honors classes and you had a good essay you’ll more than likely pull through and get accepted.

However there have been some deferalls on this very website (Including my own deferral w/ 3.5 GPA and 29 ACT) that make me a little weary about it, but it’s definitely not out of the question.

Good luck!!!

halfway through my junior year, i have so far gotten a 3.1 uw gpa and weighted its a 3.2. sat’s-1730. i plan on boosting my SAT’s by atleast 30 points after retaking it a couple times, and i plan on having my gpa go up for the last semester of my junior year.

and i also have various credentials such as member of FBLA, DECA, annual participant in relay for life, and others

^ It’s kind of rude to hijack the OP’s thread. But you have a decent shot.

oh my bad im brand new to this website, my apologies.
