<p>Hi:) I'm 14 and I'll be in junior this coming fall.
So here's my situation:
I just moved here in US (I came from Philippines). We don't have middle school there so that's why I'm 14, turning 15 by Junior year.
I just wanted to ask since I'm kinda new, do I have any chances of being in a good university? I don't want to go to community college or whatever.
During freshman, I studied in the Philippines.
(btw,in our school,we don't have any honors classes or AP, we just have 2 kinds of sections, Star Section-the SUPER top students, they have different math but other subjects are the same you'll get kicked out in Star Sec. if you wouldn't be an honor student, the regular class-in which you could still be an honor student, you just have to have an average of 85% and above, 85-86% 5th Honor, 87-88% 4th Honor, 89-91% 3rd Honor, 92-94% 2nd Honor, 95-98%1st Honor --99%100% doesn't exist--)
-74% is a failing grade-
I'm a consistent honor student, usually 4th honor and in regular class.
During my freshman year:
English:85%
Math(Algebra 1)-90%
Science( 1st qtr-2nd qtr, Biology. 3rd qtr, basic chem. 4th qtr, basic physics.) 83%
Social Studies(Philippine History) 89%
Tech.& Livelihood Ed. 89%
Music,Arts,P.E.&Health-93%</p>
<p>Sophomore (1st qtr-3rd qtr. I studied in Phil., June-Dec. but it's just 2nd qtr. in US) :
Biology Honors- B- or B? I dunno yet. (I'm not good in bio)
Math(Algebra 2) Honors- A (math here is waaaayy easy, just saying:D )
English CP- A (I don't know why my guidance counselor put me in CP :( )
Gym, Multimedia, Music in Films, Arts.- A ( I didn't take any foreign language and history cuz' I came here in the middle of the year).
Asian History( i took it in the Philippines but I don't know if they counted my grades in this subj.) 88-90%? not sure though.</p>
<p>My old school in the Phil., is a chinese school so we take chinese classes, but I dunno if they're going to give me credits for that. They don't offer chinese classes in this school.
Freshman:
Zhong Wen-81%
Zong He-81%
Math-81%
Sophomore ( I wasn't able to finish that so here's my 3rd qtr. grades)
Zhong Wen-90%
Zong He-88%
Math-85%
I'll just study hard in junior year and do my best for the SATs and ACT, I'll start studying this summer.^^ and SAT 2 for chinese, I would self-study this summer.
I really wanted to study in UCSD for pharmacy, I'll do my pre-reqs somewhere (I dunno yet :D )
but if I have no chance, I guess I'll study in the Philippines, in University of Santo Tomas.
Do I have any chances in UCSD or University of Santo Tomas? My old school is really competitive especially in math,students there usually get into top schools in the Phil. but my school here, is not that good.
