I don’t want to show schools my SAT II test scores. Will they see them anyways if I send in my SAT I scores? Is there an option to not send them in? Thanks
When you say SAT II - you mean the subject tests, correct? The short answer is no, you can select that only the SAT I scores are sent. The schools never have to see the subject test scores.
Yes, you can send only your SAT I scores, as long as the school is not one that requires applicants to submit all standardized test scores. You need to check each school’s website for the most current information on this…do not use secondary source sites.
And because Collegeboard makes it so not straightforward to select only the scores you want…here are the steps:
When you select ‘send scores’ in your collegeboard account, all your test scores will come up…on this page you cannot select individual scores to send, so choose ‘send available scores’. After selecting the school(s) to send the scores to, you will then have the option to send all scores, or choose scores to send.
When you select ‘choose scores’, the next screen will have all your test scores/sittings selected, and you have to unselect the ones you do not want to send. It’s $12/per school, whether you send all or only some scores.
Only a few schools require that you send all scores. Otherwise there is score choice and you can send the scores you want. Check the website of each school you apply to and see the requirements.
Word of caution OP - some schools include all standardized test results on their HS transcript.
One more thing, before you pay to send any scores, check the college’s website to see if applicants can self-report test scores. Many schools now allow this…the applicant records test scores in the application, and only pays to send the official score report if and when they matriculate.
Ok, thank you so much for the info!
